Service Description

There are as many ways to cast a spell as there are witches (and non-witches) to cast them. Movement is one of those ways. In this workshop, we will explore the shape of a spell, dreaming, and playing with how movement can be used to send magick out into the world. We will discuss various traditions and ways of spellcasting and how they can be worked through the lens of movement practice and dance. Then, in a safely-held energetic space, we will experiment with raising and directing energy through movement, charging it with intention, and feeling the magic as we dance with it. This workshop will be a safe space of discussion, play, and joyful experimentation, focusing on the wonder of moving magic through ourselves to encourage change in the world. This workshop can be done with or without ritual tools, but some items that may be fun to experiment with if desired are wands, talismans, ritual jewelry, stones, and crystals, naturally found items respectfully collected and returned to the earth, fabrics, and flowy clothing, and masks and costume pieces if you wish to bring them. *This workshop is open to all skill levels of movement and magick and ALL LEVELS OF PHYSICAL ABILITY, holding the value that ANY movement, even as subtle as breathing, is a valid form of expression and powerful in its magick. Christopher Croucher, Stormdancer, is an artist, performer, healer and witch. He weaves his passion for numerous art forms, his background in dance and choreography, and his experience as a massage therapist and energy healer together with his magickal practice of over twenty-five years to bring his work into the world as a number of different offerings. These take the form of ritual and meditative dance performances, workshops and retreats, magickal healing work with clients one-on-one and in groups, as well as art pieces and magic(k)al* creations. One of the things that Chris adores most about his work and practice is the moment when he can help a new practitioner, or even an experienced one, step into their power and connect with magic(k) for the first time or in a deeper way. He feels that those moments are what keep the wonder of the world alive and it is that wonder that makes him love what he does. *Chris uses the “k” in magic(k) to differentiate between magic inherent in the world and magick as a practice, referring to both at once with the (k).
