Pukwudgies, Little Green Men, and Other New England Fairies Discover the folklore of New England's fairies with local author Peter Muise. New England is famous for its history and legends about witches, but stories about small magical humanoids have been told in this region for centuries. Learn about pixies and bogles in the 1700s, a foul-mouthed fairy who possessed a servant girl, a family tormented by little green gnomes, and a haunted fairy throne in Connecticut. And no presentation about fairies would be complete without discussing pukwudgies, the small hairy tricksters said to lurk in our local forests. Peter Muise is the author of WITCHES AND WARLOCKS OF MASSACHUSETTS (2021) and LEGENDS AND LORE OF THE NORTH SHORE (2014). His work has appeared in various other places, including MAGICAL FOLK: BRITISH AND IRISH FAIRIES: AD 500 TO PRESENT (2018). He blogs at newenglandfolklore.blogspot.com and lives outside Boston.
