The Conservatory of Feather and Bone is rooted in tradition while factoring in the adaptability of the modern. We view witchcraft as a living, breathing entity that we hope will grow and change with the times. In order to walk this long and winding path authentically, the courses are structured to provide tools and knowledge to foster an individualized witchcraft practice unique to each student. To support this work, it is paramount that The Conservatory is a community where learning is the focus, safety is prioritized, and mistakes are par for the course. 

 

     While most magickal teachings begin with reaching for power externally, the Conservatory believes you are the most powerful tool you will ever possess and all the power actually resides within the practitioner. The school begins with the first year, The Roots, two semester-long classes whose content starts the inner work, as chiseled on the top of the Temple of Delphi, “Γνῶθι σεαυτόν”, know thyself, while also delving into the history of witchcraft, exploring well-known traditions, learning discernment, and laying the groundwork for a sustainable personal daily practice. The second year is where we start to delve into The Grove, reaching beyond ourselves to connect with what is around us. With two semester-long classes, the courses will cover topics such as working with the elements, refining discernment, and starting relationships with the “unseen allies” including ancestors, deities, and many others. This structural work builds towards the third year, The Branches, where students pick an area of interest, diverging into their own majors. This advanced study is facilitated in a more one-on-one learning experience with an expert in that topic to provide personalized instruction intended to take your knowledge deeper. This intensive paves the way for leadership opportunities, professional work, and proficiency of the skill by graduation.

 

     In a world of total disconnect where a slew of information is accessible at your fingertips, it can be overwhelming to know what is reliable and aligned with your authenticity. To offset the bombardment of shoulds and have-to’s, we will teach you how to sift through the noise to find your own silence, knowing that that is where your magick lives. The Conservatory of Feather and Bone is created out of that need from the community for a foundational practice, for mentorship teaching, and to combat confusion as to where to begin. Whether you are someone whose life has gotten in the way of their practice, someone who has always “been into all of this” but didn’t know how to really embrace it, a seasoned practitioner that has fallen into a rut or searching to deepen what they have already established, these core teachings are the key to any long-lasting practice that can be revisited over and over again.
